At Achieving Balance, you can expect only the highest possible level of respectful, professional, and ethical treatment. Your difficulties will be held in the utmost confidence and you will not feel judged in any way. The therapeutic relationship should provide you with a safe space to share your deepest thoughts and feelings, both about your difficulties and about the therapy itself.
What will happen at my Therapy Sessions?
First, we will have a free, 20-minute conversation on the phone to establish if we are a good match. If we agree that I might be able to help you, we will arrange an assessment appointment. This is a get-to-know-you session where you can ask any further questions about my practice and I can begin to get a more rounded picture of you, the difficulties you are experiencing and your hopes for therapy.
We will then agree a way forward in terms of an initial number of sessions and goals for therapy. We will then meet on a regular, pre-determined basis for our sessions, regularly reviewing progress. I use a flexible approach to therapy, and might use one or more therapeutic approaches during your sessions, depending on what we’ve agreed.
My therapy is completely transparent and I will always be very honest with you about how I perceive you, your difficulties, our progress and my ideas about what might help you and my reasoning behind this. Similarly, I will encourage you to be open with me about how you think our sessions are going. In this way, we can build a robust and honest relationship to help us work together to achieve your goals for therapy.
